Syncra is hiring our first engineer to lead engineering for our AI-native physician shift scheduling platform, built for independent emergency medicine groups.
Syncra is Novy's first portfolio company. Novy is a healthcare SaaS venture studio, and Syncra is being built from the ground up with Novy's team and resources behind it.
We're looking for someone to lead engineering end to end: a leader now, and a hands-on builder from day one. You'll have full access to the team that's been building this product since the start, and you'll shape both what gets built and how. Architectural ownership, real product partnership, and the kind of compounding learning that only comes from a 0-to-1 seat.
What we’re looking for:
Incredibly detail-oriented. Scheduling is a domain where small errors compound fast. Correctness isn't a nice-to-have; it's the product.
AI-native, but grounded. Genuinely willing to test, explore, and push on AI, paired with the judgment to build solid, reliable software for a real industry with real operational stakes.
Drawn to hard problems. At its core, Syncra is a constraint and optimization challenge, balancing competing rules and preferences into schedules physicians trust. If that kind of problem lights you up, you'll feel at home.
High agency. You ship end to end, create specs as much as you execute them, and stay close to the people who actually use what we build.
Comfortable with ambiguity in an environment that's still taking shape.
Experience building for healthcare, and respect for the data-handling obligations that come with it, is a plus.
